The former reigning king of social networking land MySpace is rolling out new user profile designs. The update came from Sean Percival, Myspace’s VP of Online Marketing. In a short tweet Sean linked to his online profile, describing it as a “Clean new profile”.
The design updates do look amazing, and you can’t help but realize these are long overdue. MySpace has always looked like a 10 year old’s playground when it comes to profile pages frontend and backend. Luckily it appears as though the company has drawn upon many inspirations similar to Facebook for user interface panels.
So far I feel the response is mostly positive towards the new updates. I love how simple it is to find information on the profile’s, plus by generally cleaning up a lot of clutter it gives more credibility to individual pages.
It doesn’t appear as though everybody will be able to test these waters right now. MySpace is carefully rolling out the profile designs slowly to test and see what needs tweaking or changes. I’m excited to see where the company will go with this, and the new profile’s are certainly a step in a much-needed right direction.

“We’re testing a new look and feel of our site among users and the response so far has been positive,” …”As always, we’re interested in hearing feedback from our community as we roll out enhancements to the user experience and look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming weeks.”
